Dolly, my mother's long time companion of 15 years went to rainbow bridge today. She was a great friend of my mothers and loyal to the end. She has been sick for several months now but her body was tired and it was time to leave. My mother is very sad, but she knows it was time.
Please send my Mom and Dolly lots of prayers through this difficult time.
Dear God, you have given us care over all living things; protect and bless all animals who give us joy and companionship. Amen.
Dear God, please bless all the animals who are abandoned, lost or wounded. Please help them find shelter, food and water. Amen.
Prayer for Sick Animals
Healing and transforming God, your love knows no boundaries, and in your sight every life is precious; look with compassion on (name of animal), and make us your agents of healing in a broken world. Thank you Dear Lord. Amen.
Blessed are you, Lord God, maker of all living creatures. You called forth fish in the sea, birds in the air and animals on the land. You inspired St. Francis to call all of them his brothers and sisters. We ask you to bless this pet. By the power of your love, enable it to live according to your plan. May we always praise you for all your beauty in creation. Blessed are you, Lord our God, in all your creatures! Amen.
An Old Russian Prayer
Hear our prayer, Lord, for all animals, May they be well-fed and well-trained and happy; Protect them from hunger and fear and suffering; And, we pray, protect specially, dear Lord, The little cat who is the companion of our home. Keep her safe as she goes abroad, And bring her back to comfort us.
Prayer for Animal Burial
Eternal Spirit,we bring you our grief in the loss of our animal and ask you for courage to bear it. We bring you our thanks for (name of animal) who lived among us and gave us freely of his/her love. We commit our friend and companion (nameof animal) into your loving hands. Give us eyes to see how your love embraces all creatures and every living thing speaks to us of your love. Amen.
I love my pets and all animals. I have five dogs, three Maine coon cats, one cockatiel, one bunny, salt water fish tank and a fresh water fish tank. I also have two teenagers and my daughters' fiance who is living with us. I work full time as a sales representative, I'm the Senior Deacon at Church and all this keeps me busy, busy, busy. My pets are kind, gentle, funny, amazing and they seem to have many different personalities. All they want is to be treated with love. I grew up on a farm with many pets from hamsters to horses and I never thought in a hundred years I would have so many pets when I left my childhood home. I thought having a lot of pets was crazy, but I do have a lot of pets and it is a lot fun and a lot of hard work keeping up with their appointments from the vet to the groomers and everything in between. In our home, the pets are part of the family. I hope you enjoy my pet stories and tips. If you would like to ask me a question, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org ~ Thank you
